Mental Health Counselors Benefit

Parting Properly provides training for potential team members. Please see the FAQS page for more information.

After a candidate has been trained, Parting Properly and the candidate may, by mutual agreement, enter into a contract whereby the candidate is designated as a Parting Properly Mentor. The contract provides that the Parting Properly Mentor will be available to mentor couples as an independent contractor, for certain compensation, and will maintain the highest ethical standards in advising and guiding the couple through the process of making decisions necessary to resolve issues in their divorce.

Parting Properly enters into an Engagement Letter with each couple. The Engagement Letter provides that all parties have agreed not to litigate, that neither Parting Properly nor the Parting Properly Mentor will provide legal counsel, and, on that basis, Parting Properly will provide a Parting Properly Mentor to mentor the clients.

While each client is free to withdraw from the agreement not to litigate, if either of them does, the Mentor is prohibited from representing either of the clients in litigation and may not be called as a witness. Should clients engage in litigation, all fees paid are retained, and Parting Properly and the Mentor are released from any further obligation to the clients. The Parting Properly agreement with clients provides that Mentors have no personal liability for services they perform.

All meeting space outside the offices of the Mentors is provided by Parting Properly, permitting representation of clients throughout California.

Parting Properly Mentors are paid from the fees collected by Parting Properly, as set forth in the contract between the Mentors and Parting Properly. In addition to the hourly fees for services performed by the Mentors, a company bonus may be paid at the end of each year to the Mentors, based upon the success of Parting Properly during the year.

Mentors set their own schedules and represent as many or as few clients as they wish. Experience has shown that each couple usually requires about 25 hours of attention from a Mentor in order to complete the Parting Properly process. With Parting Properly, a Mentor may efficiently serve a number of couples. The compensation for doing so can be excellent.

After training, a Mentor should be prepared to provide the services clients need to get through the divorce process successfully.

Parting Properly is committed to each Parting Properly Mentor’s success and to the successful conclusion of each of the divorces which the Mentor handles.
